Behind the Scenes: Men of Valor™
|
Vietnam is a well documented war, with stories of heroism and self sacrifice. The gameplay possibilities of which couldn't be ignored for long.
How many different weapons are found in the game?
The game contains 21 different types of weapons. The development team was able to handle and photograph the majority of the weapons seen in the game to ensure they are modeled and textured accurately. The team even had to remove some specific details because the lawyers thought they were too accurate!
How many characters are in the game?
There are 13 individually modeled friendly characters that the player interacts with. There are 12 separate enemy models, each with a unique uniform and model, and backpacks, ammo boxes, hats, helmets, and other equipment can be attached to any model, creating a great deal of enemy diversity.
How many lines of dialogue are in Men of Valor?
There are well over 10,000 lines of dialogue in the game, many more than any other competing historical FPS. One of the highlights of the game is the battle chatter system, that dynamically alters what each of the in game characters say depending on what is going on in the game. American Marines and their Vietnamese foes will yell for help when they’re pinned down, shriek
in pain when they’re shot, provide angry war cries when they charge an adversary. The lines are
random, so they will not repeat lines over and over again. Each character in the game has over
200 lines of unique battle lines that are randomly chosen based upon their current behaviors.
Based upon their research, developer 2015 chose to make the dialogue authentic, so the dialogue
is gritty and realistic, but is true to life.
How many lines of computer code make up the game?
Over 750,000 lines of code in over 8,000 files make up Men of Valor. The game was written
primarily in C++ computer language.
How long will it take the average gamer to finish Men of Valor?
It will take the average gamer 20 to 25 hours to finish Men of Valor. In addition to the
single-player game, the multiplayer maps and cooperative mode will provide many more hours of
gameplay.
