Q & A
Behind the Scenes: Men of Valor™
Men of Valor The Vietnam War was unique in that it highlighted the small-scale, team-oriented nature of combat. Get some background on the team at 2015, the makers of Men of Valor™, in our developer Q&A, part two.

What's the background of 2015?
2015, Inc. is a small, tight knit group of game developers working out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The developer has become known for doing a tremendous amount of research on their titles, and their previous effort, "Medal of Honor: Allied Assault" was hailed for its cinematic quality, atmosphere, intensity and gritty realism. "Men of Valor" continues the trend, and even surpasses its predecessor on sheer intensity and gritty realism.

How many books did the developers read to research the game?
The developers have amassed hundreds of books on the subject of the Vietnam War dealing with a wide range of issues. These books were an essential part of our design process, especially the non-fiction oral accounts, like Michael Herr's "Dispatches," Mark Baker's "Nam" and Wallace Terry's "Bloods." Those books helped the designers get a better sense of the combat experience the ordinary grunt faced during the war. Told in their own words, these books also help give a voice to our characters. The dialogue and scripted events have been highlighted in the press for being authentic and gritty. The missions in the game are all based upon actual missions and scenarios experienced by real men in combat.

How long was the project in development and how many people worked on it?
The project was in development for over two years and over 35 worked on it.

How are the lush jungle environments of Men of Valor constructed?
The art team researched the botany of four distinct regions of Vietnam and modeled 68 separate species of jungle plant to create the dense, realistic environments of MOV.
